Mozart, Missa in C minor KV 427, Bärenreiter
As we heard from Mark in our first rehearsal, there are many version of this piece which was left unfinished by Mozart. Below is a first selection - any tips on rehearsal recordings which might be a better fit with what we are singing would be brilliant. Contact Henrike on 07952 948 799.

Mark recommends the Monteverdi Choir recording to listen with your book in front of you, trying to pick out your part. I found this version on YouTube:

Qui Tollis starts at 17:54

Lyrics:
Insanae et vanae curae invadunt mentes nostras,
Insane and vain fears invade our minds,
saepe furore replent corda, privata spe.
ever filling with rage our hearts bereft of hope.
Quid prodest, O mortalis, conari pro mundanis,
What does it profit you, mortal, to strive for worldly good,
si coelos negligas?
if you neglect heaven?
Sunt fausta tibi cuncta, si Deus est pro te.
All is well with you, if God is with you.

Lyrics:
Ave, ave verum corpus
Hail, true Body,
natum de Maria Virgine.
born of the Virgin Mary,
Vere passum, immolatum
having truly suffered, sacrificed
in cruce pro homine:
on the cross for mankind,
Cuius latus perforatum
from whose pierced side
unda fluxit et sanguine:
water and blood flowed:
Esto nobis praegustatum
Be for us a sweet foretaste
in mortis examine.
in the trial of death!
